PSLF Retroactive Credit – PSLF form PSLF form is the form that you need to fill out in order to qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is a program that allows you to receive your loans for free following 10 years’ service. For you to qualify for the program, you must work full-time for a qualifying employer and be able to make 120 timely payments.
If you’re confused which qualifies as a qualifying employer, then here are some of the things which are considered to be qualifying:
-Your government employer
-A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A public or non-profit health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for PSLF Retroactive Credit?
You’re eligible to apply to apply for PSLF for those who have a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying payment on the loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payments, however you must submit a request for it prior to the 10 years that begin your repayment period.
It’s not necessary to apply for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payments before filing.
