You can qualify to apply for PSLF depending on whether you’ve got an eligible loan and have made 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF by making just 10 qualifying payments. However, you must file before the end of your repayment period.
There’s no need to file for PSLF in the first month of the repayment period. You have the option of waiting until you’ve paid 120 installments before filing for it.
