You can qualify to apply for PSLF for those who have an eligible loan and you make 120 qualifying monthly payments on that loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying payments, however the application must be filed prior to the 10 years that begin your repayment period.
You do not need to submit a claim for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 installments before filing for it.
