Paye PSLF – This PSLF form is an form which you have to fill out to qualify for the Public Service Grant Forgiveness program. The PSLF is a program that allows to receive your loans for free at the end of 10 years’ work. When you are eligible to join this program, you need to perform your job full-time at a qualified employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you are not sure regarding what qualifies as an employer with a qualified status, below are some items that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public or non-profit health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for Paye PSLF?
You are eligible to file for PSLF when you own a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payment, but you must file at the beginning of the 10th year of your repayment period.
There is no requirement to apply for PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You have the option of waiting until you’ve paid 120 installments before filing for it.
