The PSLF is program that allows you to have your loan forgiven upon completion of 10 consecutive years. The program is available to those who qualify. the program, you must work full-time for a qualified employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you are not sure on what qualifies as being an eligible employer, here are some of the things that can be considered qualifying:
-Your government employer
The organization is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-An un-profit or public health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for How To Enroll PSLF?
You can qualify to apply for PSLF when you own a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying payment on the loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF when you’ve made 10 qualifying loans, however, you must file for it within 10 years from the commencement of your repayment period.
You don’t have to apply for PSLF in the first month of the repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments before submitting for it.
