PSLF Surgery – This PSLF form is an application form which you need to fill out to be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is a program that allows you the forgiveness of your loans upon completion of 10 consecutive years. In order to be eligible the program, you must be employed full-time with a qualifying employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re unsure about what is an employer that qualifies, these are the items that count:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A public health or non-profit health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for PSLF Surgery?
You’re eligible to apply to apply for PSLF when you own the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying payments, but you must apply for it within 10 years from the commencement of the repayment period.
There is no requirement to submit a claim for PSLF before the commencement of your loan period. You are able to wait until you’ve completed 120 installments before filing for it.
