Consolidation PSLF – Form PSLF PSLF form is one form that you need to complete to receive the Public Service loan forgiveness program. The PSLF is an option that permits you to have your loan forgiven within 10 years after you have served. Before you can be considered eligible the program, you need to work full-time for a qualifying employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re still not certain regarding what qualifies as an eligible employer, these are the things that can be considered qualifying:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
-A non-profit or public health care institution
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
What is the deadline to file for Consolidation PSLF?
You are eligible for PSLF only if you hold one of the loans that qualifies and you’ve made 120 qualifying installments on that loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying payments, but you must file for it prior to the 10 years that begin the repayment period.
You do not need to declare PSLF from the very beginning of your repayment period. You are able to wait until you’ve completed 120 payments before filing.
