PSLF Disqualification – It is the PSLF form is an application form that you have to complete in order to receive the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is an option that permits you the forgiveness of your loans when you reach 10 years in service. To be eligible for this program, you must complete your full-time job for a reputable employer and make 120 on-time payments.

If you’re unsure of what constitutes an employer that is qualified, below are some items that are eligible:

-Your government employer

The organization is 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation

A non-profit or public health organization

-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service

When do I need to file for PSLF Disqualification?

You’re eligible to file for PSLF when you own a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payments. However, you have to file for it prior to the 10 years that begin your repayment period.

It’s not necessary to apply for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments prior to filing for it.
