PSLF During Covid

PSLF During Covid – A PSLF form is an application form that you must complete in order you can be eligible for the public service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is an opportunity for you to receive your loans for free at the end of 10 years’ work. For you to qualify for this program, you must work full-time for an eligible employer and make 120 on-time payments.

If you are not sure about what qualifies as an employer with a qualified status, here are some suggestions that meet the criteria:

-Your government employer

It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation

A non-profit, public health care organization

-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service

When do I need to file for PSLF During Covid?

You can qualify to apply for PSLF when you own a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying payments on that loan. You may be able to apply for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payments, however you must file within the first 10 years of the repayment period.

There is no requirement to submit a claim for PSLF from the very beginning of your repayment period. You can wait until you’ve made 120 payments before filing for it.
