PSLF Proposed Changes – It is the PSLF form is a form you must fill out to apply for the Public Service Credit Forgiveness Plan. The PSLF is an opportunity for you to forgive your debts after 10 years of service. For you to qualify for this program, you must work full-time for an eligible employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.
If you’re uncertain regarding what qualifies as an employer that qualifies, here are some of the things that are eligible:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-An un-profit or public health care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
What is the deadline to File For PSLF Proposed Changes?
You’re eligible to apply for PSLF when you own a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able to apply for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying repayments, but you must file for it before the end of the repayment period.
There is no requirement to file for PSLF at the beginning of your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payment before you file for it.
