Social Work Public Service Loan Forgiveness PSLF – PSLF form PSLF form is one form that you have to fill out to get the Public Service loan forgiveness program. The PSLF is a program that allows to get your loans repaid in the event of 10 years’ continuous service. To be eligible for the program, you need to work full-time for an eligible employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you are not sure which qualifies as an eligible employer, there are a few things which are considered to be qualifying:
-Your government employer
• A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-An un-profit or public health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for Social Work Public Service Loan Forgiveness PSLF?
You’re eligible to apply to file for PSLF If you hold a qualifying loan and make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able file for PSLF after having made just 10 qualifying loans, however, you must apply for it for it within 10 years from the commencement of the repayment period.
You do not need to be a candidate for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments before filing.
