You’re eligible to apply for PSLF when you own the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying payment on the loan. You may be able file for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying payments, however you must file for it in the initial 10 years following your repayment period.
You do not have to fill out a form for PSLF from the very beginning of your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payment before you file for it.
