Submit PSLF Form – A PSLF form is an form which you have to complete in order to be eligible for the Public Service Credit Forgiveness Plan. The PSLF is a program that allows you the forgiveness of your loans upon completion of 10 consecutive years. If you want to participate in the program, you must work full-time for an eligible employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not sure which qualifies as a qualifying employer, then here are some suggestions that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
• A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A non-profit, public health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for Submit PSLF Form?
You are eligible to file for PSLF when you own a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You could be eligible to file for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payments, but you have to file for it in the initial 10 years following the repayment period.
There is no requirement to declare PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 transactions before submitting your application.
