When do I need to File For Can You Do Both Tlfp And PSLF?
You are eligible to apply for PSLF depending on whether you’ve got an eligible loan and have made the required 120 payments on that loan. You could be eligible to apply for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying installments, but you must file for it within the first 10 years of the repayment period.
There is no requirement to be a candidate for PSLF at the beginning of your repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments before filing.
