PSLF Waiver Eligibility – This PSLF form is a form that you must complete in order to qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is program that allows you to have your loan forgiven in the event of 10 years’ continuous service. In order to be eligible this program, you need to perform full-time work for a qualifying employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re confused of what constitutes an employer that is qualified, there are a few things that qualify:
-Your government employer
“A” stands for 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health or non-profit health-care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to File For PSLF Waiver Eligibility?
You are eligible to file for PSLF for those who have an eligible loan and you make 120 qualifying payment on the loan. You may be able apply for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payments, however you must submit a request for it during the first 10 years after the start of your repayment period.
You do not need to apply for PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You have the option of waiting until you’ve paid 120 payments before filing.
