PSLF Start Date – It is the PSLF form is a form that you must fill out to receive the Public Service loan forgiveness program. The PSLF is the program that allows you to have your loans forgiven when you reach 10 years in service. In order to be eligible the program, you need to work full-time for a qualified employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not certain which qualifies as an eligible employer, here are some things that are eligible:
-Your government employer
“A” stands for 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
-A non-profit or public health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for PSLF Start Date?
You can qualify to file for PSLF for those who have a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying payments on that loan. You may be able apply for PSLF when you’ve made 10 qualifying payment, but the application must be filed within the first 10 years of the repayment period.
You do not have to fill out a form for PSLF at the beginning of your repayment period. You are able to wait until you’ve completed 120 payments prior to filing for it.
