The PSLF is a program that allows to get your loans repaid after 10 years of service. Before you can be considered eligible this program, you need to be employed full-time with a qualifying employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re confused about what qualifies as an employer with a qualified status, there are a few things that qualify:
-Your government employer
“A” stands for 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to File For Upload PSLF Form?
You can qualify for PSLF in the event that you have the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying payment on the loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying loans, however, you must submit a request for it at the beginning of the 10th year of the repayment period.
You don’t have to make an application for PSLF before the commencement of your loan period. You may wait until you’ve made 120 payments prior to filing for it.
