PSLF Forms – The PSLF form is a form that you have to complete in order to participate in the Public Services Grant Forgiveness program. The PSLF is program that allows you to have your loans forgiven within 10 years after you have served. When you are eligible to join the program, you need to work full-time for a qualifying employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not certain about what is an eligible employer, there are a few things that count:
-Your government employer
• A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health or non-profit health care institution
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for PSLF Forms?
You can qualify to file for PSLF If you hold a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments on that loan. You may be able apply for PSLF by making just 10 qualifying payments, but the application must be filed within the first 10 years of the repayment period.
You do not have to submit a claim for PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You can wait until you’ve made 120 payments prior to filing for it.
