Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Employment Certification Form – A PSLF form is a form which you have to fill out in order to qualify for the Public Service the Loan Repayment Program. The PSLF is an initiative that allows you the forgiveness of your loans following 10 years’ service. To be eligible for the program, you must be employed full-time with a qualifying employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not sure whether you are an eligible employer, here are some of the things which are considered to be qualifying:
-Your government employer
-A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public or non-profit health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to File For Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness Employment Certification Form?
You are eligible for PSLF If you hold a qualifying loan and make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able to apply for PSLF when you’ve made 10 qualifying payments. However, you must apply within the first 10 years of the repayment period.
It is not necessary to be a candidate for PSLF from the very beginning of your repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 transactions before submitting your application.
