Do Consolidated Student Loans Qualify For PSLF – A PSLF form is an application form that you need to complete to be eligible for the Public Service Grant Forgiveness program. The PSLF is an opportunity for you to receive your loans for free at the end of 10 years’ work. In order to be eligible the program, you need to work full-time for a qualifying employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you are not sure which qualifies as an employer that qualifies, these are the things that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
-A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public or non-profit health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for Do Consolidated Student Loans Qualify For PSLF?
You’re eligible for PSLF when you own a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying installments on that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF after having made just 10 qualifying payment, but you have to file for it in the initial 10 years following your repayment period.
You don’t have to be a candidate for PSLF in the first month of the repayment period. You have the option of waiting until you’ve paid 120 payments before filing for it.
