The PSLF is program that allows you to be granted loan forgiveness upon completion of 10 consecutive years. For you to qualify for this program, you must work full-time for an eligible employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.
If you’re still not certain about what qualifies as an employer that is qualified, these are the things that are eligible:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A public or non-profit health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to File For Do You Get Paid While On PSLF?
You can qualify for PSLF for those who have a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be able apply for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying payment, but you must file for it for it within 10 years from the commencement of your repayment period.
It is not necessary to submit a claim for PSLF in the first month of the repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payments before submitting for it.
