Employer Certification PSLF – A PSLF form is one form that you have to fill out in order to qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is an option that permits you to receive your loans for free in the event of 10 years’ continuous service. In order to be eligible this program, you must perform full-time work for a qualifying employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re confused about what qualifies as an employer that is qualified, these are the items that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-A non-profit or public health care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for Employer Certification PSLF?
You can qualify to file for PSLF if you have the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying installments on that loan. It’s possible to apply for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payment, but you must apply for it for it within 10 years from the commencement of your repayment period.
You do not need to file for PSLF at the beginning of your repayment period. You have the option of waiting until you’ve paid 120 payments before filing.
