Federal Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness Employment Certification Form – The PSLF form is one form that you must fill out in order to be eligible for the Public Service Grant Forgiveness program. The PSLF is an opportunity for you to get your loans repaid when you reach 10 years in service. For you to qualify for this program, you must work full-time for an eligible employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re confused on what qualifies as being a qualifying employer, then these are the things that qualify:
-Your government employer
The organization is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-A non-profit or public health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for Federal Loan Public Service Loan Forgiveness Employment Certification Form?
You’re eligible to apply for PSLF when you own one of the loans that qualifies and you’ve made 120 qualifying payment on the loan. You may be able apply for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payments. However, you have to file for it during the first 10 years after the start of the repayment period.
You do not have to be a candidate for PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payments before filing.
