You’re eligible to file for PSLF in the event that you have the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You could be eligible to file for PSLF by making just 10 qualifying repayments, but you must apply during the first 10 years after the start of your repayment period.
It’s not necessary to file for PSLF before the commencement of your loan period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments prior to filing for it.
