You are eligible for PSLF If you hold the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying payments on that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying payments, however you must apply for it at the beginning of the 10th year of the repayment period.
There is no requirement to declare PSLF prior to the start of your payment period. You may wait until you’ve made 120 payment before you file for it.
