Is PSLF Tax Free – Form PSLF PSLF form is it’s a form you must fill out in order to participate in the Public Services the Loan Repayment Program. The PSLF is an option that permits you to have your loan forgiven at the end of 10 years’ work. To be eligible for the program, you need to perform your job full-time at a qualified employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.
If you’re not sure about what qualifies as a qualifying employer, then these are the items that qualify:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
What is the deadline to file for Is PSLF Tax Free?
You’re eligible to file for PSLF when you own the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be eligible to file for PSLF after you have made only 10 qualifying payment, but you must apply for it before the end of your repayment period.
You do not need to submit a claim for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payments prior to filing for it.
