You’re eligible to apply to file for PSLF when you own a qualifying loan and make 120 qualifying installments on that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF by making just 10 qualifying repayments, but you have to file for it before the end of the repayment period.
There is no requirement to make an application for PSLF in the first month of the repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments before filing for it.
