Loan Forgiveness Public Service Form – It is the PSLF form is a form that you have to complete to be eligible for the Public Service the Loan Repayment Program. The PSLF is a program that allows you the forgiveness of your loans at the end of 10 years’ work. Before you can be considered eligible this program, you must perform full-time work for a qualifying employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.
If you’re still not certain regarding what qualifies as an employer with a qualified status, here are some things that qualify:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-An un-profit or public health-care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for Loan Forgiveness Public Service Form?
You can qualify to apply for PSLF for those who have an eligible loan and you make 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be eligible to apply for PSLF when you’ve made 10 qualifying payments, however you must apply for it at the beginning of the 10th year of your repayment period.
You do not have to apply for PSLF prior to the start of your payment period. You may wait until you’ve made 120 payments before submitting for it.
