New PSLF Form – The PSLF form is the form that you have to complete you can be eligible for the public service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is an opportunity for you to have your loans forgiven after 10 years of service. To be eligible for this program, you must perform full-time work for a qualifying employer and be able to make 120 timely payments.
If you are not sure whether you are an eligible employer, there are a few things that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
–A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A public or non-profit health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for New PSLF Form?
You’re eligible to file for PSLF only if you hold an eligible loan and you make the required 120 payments on that loan. You could be eligible to apply for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying payment, but you must file for it at the beginning of the 10th year of your repayment period.
There is no requirement to be a candidate for PSLF before the commencement of your loan period. You can wait until having made 120 installments before filing for it.
