New PSLF Program – A PSLF form is an application form that you need to complete in order to apply for the Public Service The Loan Forgiveness Programme. The PSLF is an option that permits you to be granted loan forgiveness within 10 years after you have served. To be eligible for this program, you must complete your full-time job for a reputable employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not certain on what qualifies as being an employer that qualifies, here are some of the things that count:
-Your government employer
• A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A non-profit, public health-care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to File For New PSLF Program?
You’re eligible to apply to apply for PSLF if you have a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying payments on that loan. You could be eligible to apply for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying payments, however you have to file for it for it within 10 years from the commencement of the repayment period.
You do not have to fill out a form for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments before submitting for it.
