PSLF And TePSLF – The PSLF form is an form you must complete in order to receive the Public Service the Loan Repayment Program. The PSLF is an opportunity for you to be granted loan forgiveness when you reach 10 years in service. Before you can be considered eligible the program, you need to work full-time for a qualified employer and make 120 on-time payments.
If you’re unsure which qualifies as an employer that qualifies, below are some items that count:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A public or non-profit health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to File For PSLF And TePSLF?
You’re eligible to apply to apply for PSLF if you have one of the loans that qualifies and you’ve made 120 qualifying payments to that loan. It’s possible to file for PSLF after having made just 10 qualifying payments, but you must apply for it at the beginning of the 10th year of your repayment period.
It’s not necessary to declare PSLF at the beginning of your repayment period. You have the option of waiting until you’ve paid 120 payments before submitting for it.
