PSLF As A Professor – A PSLF form is the form which you need to fill out to qualify for the Public Service the Loan Repayment Program. The PSLF is the program that allows you to have your loan forgiven in the event of 10 years’ continuous service. In order to be eligible the program, you must perform your job full-time at a qualified employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not certain of what constitutes an eligible employer, below are some items that are eligible:
-Your government employer
“A” stands for 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health care provider
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for PSLF As A Professor?
You’re eligible to file for PSLF depending on whether you’ve got a qualifying loan and make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You might be able to apply for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying installments, but you must file for it during the first 10 years after the start of your repayment period.
You don’t have to submit a claim for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You may wait until you’ve made 120 payment before you file for it.
