The PSLF is a program that allows to forgive your debts after 10 years of service. The program is available to those who qualify. this program, you need to work full-time for an eligible employer and be able to make 120 timely payments.
If you’re confused about what qualifies as an employer that is qualified, there are a few things that can be considered qualifying:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A non-profit, public health care institution
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
What is the deadline to File For PSLF Cares?
You are eligible to apply for PSLF if you have a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying payment on the loan. It’s possible to file for PSLF when you’ve made 10 qualifying loans, however, you must apply for it in the initial 10 years following your repayment period.
You do not have to apply for PSLF from the very beginning of your repayment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments before submitting for it.
