PSLF Employer Eligibility – The PSLF form is the form which you have to fill out in order to be eligible for the Public Service Grant Forgiveness program. The PSLF is an option that permits you to have your loans forgiven at the end of 10 years’ work. In order to be eligible this program, you must complete your full-time job for a reputable employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not sure of what constitutes a qualifying employer, then here are some things you can consider:
-Your government employer
The organization is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A public health or non-profit health care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I need to file for PSLF Employer Eligibility?
You’re eligible to apply to file for PSLF when you own an eligible loan and have made 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able apply for PSLF by making just 10 qualifying installments, but you must file for it within the first 10 years of the repayment period.
There’s no need to file for PSLF prior to the start of your payment period. You may wait until you’ve made 120 payments prior to filing for it.
