PSLF Employment Eligibility – It is the PSLF form is one form which you have to complete in order to apply for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is program that allows you to be granted loan forgiveness in the event of 10 years’ continuous service. In order to be eligible this program, you must perform full-time work for a qualifying employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re still not certain about what qualifies as an eligible employer, there are a few things that count:
-Your government employer
–A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
A non-profit, public health care institution
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to File For PSLF Employment Eligibility?
You can qualify for PSLF only if you hold a qualifying loan and are able to make 120 qualifying payments to that loan. You may be able apply for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying payment, but you must file for it within 10 years from the commencement of the repayment period.
You do not need to apply for PSLF in the first month of the repayment period. You are able to wait until you’ve completed 120 transactions before submitting your application.
