PSLF Form Fed Loans – The PSLF form is an application form that you need to complete to receive the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. The PSLF is an option that permits you the forgiveness of your loans within 10 years after you have served. If you want to participate in this program, you need to be employed full-time with a qualifying employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.
If you’re still not certain which qualifies as an eligible employer, here are some of the things that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
A public or non-profit health organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to File For PSLF Form Fed Loans?
You can qualify to apply for PSLF in the event that you have one of the loans that qualifies and you’ve made 120 qualifying installments on that loan. You may be eligible to apply for PSLF with only 10 qualifying loans, however, you must apply within the first 10 years of the repayment period.
You do not have to apply for PSLF prior to the start of your payment period. You will have to wait until the completion of 120 payments prior to filing for it.
