PSLF Qualifying Jobs – A PSLF form is a form which you have to complete in order to qualify for the Public Service the Loan Repayment Program. The PSLF is a program that allows to have your loans forgiven after 10 years of service. To be eligible for this program, you must be employed full-time with a qualifying employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re unsure which qualifies as a qualifying employer, then there are a few things that meet the criteria:
-Your government employer
It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
-A non-profit or public health-care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
When do I have to file for PSLF Qualifying Jobs?
You’re eligible for PSLF if you have one of the loans that qualifies and you’ve made the required 120 payments on that loan. You may be able to apply for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying payment, but you must apply for it during the first 10 years after the start of your repayment period.
You do not have to fill out a form for PSLF from the very beginning of your repayment period. You can wait until you’ve made 120 payments prior to filing for it.
