The PSLF is an initiative that allows you to be granted loan forgiveness when you reach 10 years in service. If you want to participate in this program, you must work full-time for a qualified employer and pay 120 on-time payments.
If you’re not certain whether you are an employer that qualifies, these are the items that can be considered qualifying:
-Your government employer
A 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation
-A non-profit or public health care organization
-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service
What is the deadline to file for PSLF Verification Form?
You can qualify to apply for PSLF depending on whether you’ve got an eligible loan and you make 120 qualifying payments on that loan. It is possible to apply for PSLF when you’ve made 10 qualifying payments, but you have to file for it before the end of the repayment period.
There is no requirement to make an application for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You can wait until having made 120 payments prior to filing for it.
