Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Employment Certification Form – Form PSLF PSLF form is the form which you need to fill out in order to participate in the Public Services Credit Forgiveness Plan. The PSLF is the program that allows you to get your loans repaid within 10 years after you have served. Before you can be considered eligible the program, you need to be employed full-time with a qualifying employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.

If you’re not sure on what qualifies as being a qualifying employer, then below are some items you can consider:

-Your government employer

It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organisation

A public health or non-profit health care provider

-An AmeriCorps or Peace Corps volunteer service

When do I need to File For Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Employment Certification Form?

You’re eligible to apply to file for PSLF only if you hold the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able file for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying installments, but you have to file for it in the initial 10 years following your repayment period.

It’s not necessary to make an application for PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You can wait until you’ve made 120 payments before submitting for it.
