The PSLF is an option that permits you to have your loan forgiven following 10 years’ service. If you want to participate in the program, you must work full-time for a qualified employer, and you must make on-time 120 payments.

You can qualify to apply for PSLF If you hold one of the loans that qualifies and you’ve made 120 qualifying monthly payments on that loan. You may be able file for PSLF with only 10 qualifying payments, but the application must be filed for it within 10 years from the commencement of the repayment period.
You do not need to apply for PSLF immediately at the time of beginning your repayment period. You can wait until after you’ve completed 120 payments prior to filing for it.
