You’re eligible to file for PSLF when you own a loan that is eligible and you have made 120 qualifying installments on that loan. You might be able to apply for PSLF after only making 10 qualifying loans, however, you must submit a request for it during the first 10 years after the start of the repayment period.

You do not need to file for PSLF before the commencement of your loan period. You can wait until having made 120 payments prior to filing for it.
