A public or non-profit health care institution

You’re eligible to apply to file for PSLF only if you hold the qualifying loan and can make 120 qualifying repayments on that loan. You may be able to file for PSLF after making only 10 qualifying payments, but you have to file for it at the beginning of the 10th year of the repayment period.
You do not have to be a candidate for PSLF when you begin your repayment period. You can wait until you’ve made 120 payments before submitting for it.
